Dragonflies seek out the finest watering holes where their drink is pure and ideally suited to their tastes. They are not shy or timid in their pursuit of a great drink.
 
Enjoy the simplicity of TOMBO on the rocks and explore how the aromas and flavors open as it slowly dilutes. Add a splash of lemon or lime for added refreshment, or explore the many available options to craft a cocktail that is ideally suited to your tastes.
 
To honor our friend the Dragonfly, we have asked two of our best friends to craft exquisite cocktails from TOMBO. We gave them free reign so that their spirit could soar with ideas.



Lucy Brennan
TOMBO Cocktail Recipes from Lucy Brennan
— Owner, Mint/820 in Portland Oregon; Top Ten Mixologist, Playboy and Food & Wine; Author, Hip Sips (Chronicle Publishing)

Samurai Bandito
2 oz. TOMBO
1/2 oz. Hornitos tequila
1 oz. lemon lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
1 oz. grapefruit juice -
Shake and serve up with kosher salt on half of the rim, garnish with a lime wedge.

Dancing Dragonfly
2 oz. TOMBO
1/4 oz. banana rum
1/4 oz. vanilla rum
1 oz. simple syrup
1/4 oz. Chateau Monet
Shake and served up in a sugared rim martini glass. Garnish with an edible flower.

TOMBO Cocktail Recipes from Chris Johnson
— Partner, Bao 111 in New York City; Leading international saké expert whose reputation for saké infusions is global in scale as is his latenight shochu sipping.

The Cherry Blossom (Sakura)
2 oz. TOMBO
4 fresh black cherries
One quarter lime
cherry syrup (reduce 10 cherries pitted with half cup water and half cup sugar)
1-1/2 oz. Sprite to finish
(You can substitute black cherry soda for the syrup and the Sprite)
Serve in a Collins glass. Garnish with fresh cherry, lime twist, and cherry blossoms (if available).

Coconut Daydream
2 parts TOMBO
3 parts fresh coconut water
Rim glass with coconut shavings and serve up.

 


Tombo Shochu
 

Additional TOMBO Cocktail Recipes

Blood Bath
3 oz. TOMBO
6 Black Raspberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1/4 oz lemon/lime
Pour TOMBO over ice in shaker and add berries and remaining ingredients. Shake like a samurai battle. Serve in sugar rimmed martini glass.

Ume Zilla
1 oz. TOMBO
2 oz. Moonstone Plum saké
1/2 oz. fresh lemon/lime
Fill shaker with ice, add ingredients, and shake like you are fighting Mothra.
Serve on the rocks with plum wedge.

Classic Dragon
4 oz. TOMBO
1/2 oz. lime
In rocks glass, pour TOMBO over ice and add lime juice. Garnish with lime slice.

Tombojito
2 oz. TOMBO
1 tsp. powdered sugar
2 oz. lime juice
4 mint leaves
2 oz. club soda
Muddle powdered sugar, lime, and mint leaves with ice, add TOMBO
and shake, shake, shake. Pour into rocks glass and add club soda.

Tombo Iced Tea
3.5 oz. TOMBO
1/2 oz. Monin Green Tea (the Vert)
Splash of Lemon
Fill shaker with ice, add ingredients, and shake. Serve on the rocks with lemon slice.
